Hannah Packman
Nine Years Old

My name is Hannah. I'm nine years old (almost ten!). I've been playing violin for nearly 5 1/2 years. Besides studying violin, I also play piano. I go to school at Bear Creek Elementary and I'll be in the fifth grade next year. My teacher this year is Mrs. Fredson.
This is my first year in the Chamber/BJYS orchestra. The 3 reasons I like playing in orchestra is: 1) I get to meet kids my age who play instruments. 2) I have a great time playing fun pieces. 3) I enjoy performing for a wonderful audience and listening to the other orchestras.

Wait! ...... There's one more thing! Paige Vickery is the best conductor for kids on earth! As you can see, orchestra is a whole lot of fun. Paige is a great conductor because she keeps us amused, and we want to work so we'll sound good. She tells us silly stories. My favorite one is about her fancy coffee that didn't spill even though she fell on her way to conduct something really big.

Paige also uses good words for us so we understand what she's trying to say. She says, "the orchestra is hydroplaning" when the whole orchestra gets off track. Usually a few seconds later we all get right back on track.

Anyway, my point is, every Tuesday I look forward to orchestra.
