Annie Daigle

Annie
Daigle, a 14 year old 8th grader at Horizons Alternative in Boulder,
began her violin studies with Amy Fletcher at age 7. She attended
Suzuki camp at Snowmass for several years, culminating in 2000 when
she studied chamber music with the Alexander Quartet. This is her
third year at BYS.
Annie spent last summer at the Aspen Music Festival and School
where she played in the 1st violin section of the Aspen Concert
Orchestra and participated in several chamber ensembles. She will
be spending her second season at Aspen this summer.
Annie also plays with the Colorado Young Chamber Players and with
the Denver Young Artists Orchestra where she is currently principal
2nd violin. This winter she formed a piano trio with Kim Bredehoft
(cello) and Francesco Lecce-Chong (piano). The trio performed at
the last BYS concert and will perform in recital at Chautauqua on
May 23rd.
In 2001 Annie won the MTNA Colorado State Junior High Division
and was an alternate for the Nationals. This year, she was awarded
First Place in the Ft. Collins Symphony 47th National Artist Competition,
Junior Division and was also a finalist in the DYAO Concerto Competition.
Jennifer John of CU's College of Music has been Annie's violin
teacher for the past two years.
