Acute Myeloblastic leukemia with differentiation
|
- Leukemic marrow infiltrate resemble M1 except evidence
of maturation to or beyond the promyelocyte stage is present.
- Romanowsky stained bone marrow smears showing promyelocytes
constitute more than 10% of the immature cells.
- More than 50 % of leukemic cells are peroxidase or Sudan
Black positive (color plate 152).
- NSE activity does not exceed 20%.
- Together, M1 and M2 account for approximately 50% of
all cases of AML.
- Aside from morphology and cytochemistry, they do not
have unique features that set them apart from other AMLs.
